Stuttering And Stammering Cure

Which therapies for stuttering are the most popular and beneficial? Is it possible to overcome a stammer/stutter? How long does it take to eradicate a stutter? Are there any courses for stuttering? Where can I find out about the “stop stuttering techniques”? These are questions that I am asked on a daily basis and ones which I will be answering in this article.

I am Steve Hill and I am a speech coach from the UK. I am somebody who successfully managed to overcome his own stutter when I was aged twenty-two. I have now enjoyed fluency for the last thirteen years.

The main form of therapy that I offer comes in the form of a specialised speech course for stuttering. These courses are on a one-to-one basis, this is something which I believe is essential due to the fact that each and every person has a different type of speech impediment and should therefore be treated as an individual rather than “herded” into a group format. The courses are run in South Birmingham, in England.

The most popular form of therapy that I offer; however; happens to be the seventy minute stuttering cure DVD. This film includes a lot of information including those all important techniques that I used to eradicate my own stutter.

People are also able to purchase an e-book and an audio book; all of these are what I call self-help stuttering treatment products.

Over the last few months I have introduced a couple of new stuttering therapy options; the first is fluency coaching over the telephone and the second is stuttering therapy via Skype. These are also starting to become quite popular.

The majority of the people who contact me; whether it be via e-mail, telephone or letter are from the United Kingdom however I do receive a lot of interest from the United States, India, Australia, Ireland, Pakistan, Norway and New Zealand. Top 5 Training Tips

Good training practices make a good athlete. Traing is not just what you do out on the running track but how you mentally prepare yourself and how you live your life everyday.

Coaching - Seeking out someone with more experience then you is always a good idea. There is no sense re-inventing the wheel when someone has already tested several methods and can save you a lot of time leading to greater effiency in your training.

Be Open - A huge part to becoming an experienced athlete is to keep your mind open, both to new ideas and to feedback. Get feedback from more experienced people on your performance and technique. You can learn a lot from those who are more experienced - so do not believe you know everything no matter how experienced you are.

Take it slow - Set reasonable goals. If you are a 2 times a week recreational runner do not expect to do a 4 minute mile. Motiavation is a key element to training and the secret to this is in setting yourself realistic and achievable goals. Pushing yourself to far and fast in your traing schedule will result burn out.

Injury Prevention - I don’t know of any great athlete that hasn’t suffered a injury at one point in their career, and knows how devastating it can be. An injury can put an end to a season or an entire career. Prevent injury by warming up and being smart in your training.

Use the right equipment - Why take the risk of training in year old running shoes when it’s recommended to buy new ones every 6 months? Also consider a HRM or a running watch, such as the garmin forerunner 405cx . The garmin 405cx not only records your training session but with its inbuilt GPS can map your exact route.

Proper warm up and cool downs - can greatly decrease your risk of injury. One of the biggest mistakes is not warming up before exercise. It is like playing with fireworks. This can involve jogging to warm your muscles up, stretching and other mobility drills to make sure you are ready to begin your training session.

If you take these things into consideration I have no doubt that you will have success in for what ever it is you are training and if you invest in the 405cx you can record your progress and save and analyse it all on your PC to map your progress.

Keep your brain young

Your brain is an organ and just like the heart and lungs, it requires oxygen and exercise in order to operate at an optimum level. You may be too young to yield to middle-aged worries about ‘ use it or lose it’ or even to start fretting about Alzheimer’s and other degenerative diseases – however, it’s still important that you focus on keeping your brain in shape.

By regularly engaging in the right types of activities, you can increase your memory, improve your problem-solving skills and boost your creativity. Here are some tips on how to keep your mind active:

Quit smoking

If you are a smoker, quitting is top of the ‘to-do’ list for better mental acuity. This is due to the fact that smokers can add memory loss to the long list of health problems that come from smoking. Smokers may have twice the risk of getting Alzheimer’s disease as do people who have never smoked. Therefore, if the state and health of your mind are so important to you – stop smoking now — it is never too late. If you quit smoking now, you can still reduce your risk of memory loss later in life

Learn a language

Say ‘Ciao!’ to a new language. Learning a new tongue keeps your brain flexible and your mind sharp, helping to reduce the slowing of the thought processes that come with ageing. Attend classes, listen to tapes or seek out friends with whom you can converse in your new chosen language. Instead of watching the same television programs you always do, take in a foreign language movie with subtitles and immerse yourself in your new experience.

Play games

Thanks to an ageing baby-boom generation, there are now plenty of mentally stimulating games. Brainteasers and puzzles are good exercises for the brain. Always have a crossword book in your purse or briefcase and scribble in it while you commute, while you wait for an appointment or when you relax on your coffee break. You will improve your cognitive skills and creative thinking as well as your word power and vocabulary. Try also games that force you to strategize - for example, chess, bridge and solitaire.

Learn a new skill

A long-term goal like learning to play a musical instrument stimulates your brain on many levels over an extended period. A skill like learning to tango or foxtrot is great for the brain because it combines music and movement. Make everyday activities harder You can stimulate your brain just by mixing up your daily routine. If you are right handed for instance, brush your teeth with your left hand, shower with your eyes closed — anything that will force you to use more of your senses.

Whether it is a website, a novel or a newspaper, keeping your mind engaged in intellectual activity and expanding your vocabulary are two important ways to keep your brain thinking and working. As an extra exercise, repeat facts to yourself that you want to remember a few times - and try to recall them again later.

Socialize

Your brain is the ultimate party animal and loves social activity. Seek out clubs or other social activities that will surround you with people and have you interacting. New scenery, new topics of conversation and other multi-sensory activities force the brain to literally form new connections, thus increasing memory capacity.

How To Win Her Back - With A Few Solid Psychological Tactics

She’s currently out of your life, but you obviously want her back into it. If you’re wanting to learn how to win her back then my advice is take control with psychological tactics. A few people may frown on the use of tactics like these, but who cares what they think. The important thing is to win her back.

You may not realise but we are all subjected to some sort of psychological mind games almost every day. The whole world is at it in some form or other, two big culprits are governments and the advertising industry. Take the employee of the month competition. You don’t win anything other than bragging right but the overall production goes up.

Get her to call you without asking
It works like this, we love getting letters, don’t we? As long as they aren’t bills! You send her a handwritten note. You tell her how good things are for you right now and that you would like to thank her.

This note she received will raise her curiosity levels and also a bit of pride will kick in. The note mentions a “thank you”, she can’t for the life of her think why you would thank her. There’s the curiosity. And the pride comes in when she realises you’ve thanked her for something good she’s done. Because of these two triggers she will be desperate to discover the reason why you thanked her, so she will call you. You explain the breakup has done you the power of good, so thanks for that.

The only reason for sending the letter is to make her call you back. You can play this so she actually thinks you got back together because she called you. After all, you never once asked her to call you in the letter. But she did anyway and that was the whole point of the exercise.

Later I can show you how to get yourself the exact letter to send. There are a few other good tricks like this as well.

Play on her good memories
You can use her favourite things to further your quest to win her back. You can use her favourite food, or smell. Or even her fav song.

If she ever comes to your place or calls you (after receiving the letter!). You have the song on in the background just loud enough for her subconscious mind to hear it. In the back of her mind when she thinks of that song she thinks of the most recent time she heard it, that was on the phone to you. She loves the song. She heard it while on the phone to you. Her subconscious links the nice feelings together.

Make her a bit jealous & curious
If you can arrange a night out with a few friends, be seen to be having fun. But more importantly you engineer it so that she also knows you had a great time.

As long as you aren’t out on a one to one date, which will probably enrage her, you will raise a slight feeling of jealousy in her. She will expect you to be still mourning her but here she finds you out & about enjoying yourself. If it works right she starts to feel that it should be you & her out and not you & your friends.

There you have three little psychological tricks to help you to win her back. Other may look on them as wrong, but they aren’t going to do any lasting harm. They are quite simple and harmless. But you can’t just jump in and use these tactics without an overall plan.

You need to be using them as part of an overall master plan to win her back. You can screw the whole game up without a system to follow.
